Customer Service Specialist
We're creating an alternative, locally-based, food system in Toronto. We partner with local organic farms and like-minded local businesses and artisans, and deliver local, organic, small-scale grown or produced food that tastes really good. We deliver directly to our member's homes, throughout the GTA, on a weekly basis from our 30,000 sq. ft headquarters located in East Toronto. We are a fast growing company working to realize some exciting and ambitious plans in the coming few years. The Role and responsibilities:
The Customer Service Specialist position is based in our Peterborough office, along with the rest of our customer service team. We’re well known for the way we treat our customers (we have hundreds of reviews online and on Facebook – they’re all amazingly good). Our customers are all super nice people. In this role you’ll get to communicate with them as well as other Members of the Mama Earth Team each day
We have a small group of very nice – and super smart – people that you’ll be working with each day (there’s usually 6-7 of us engaging and communicating with customers at any given time throughout the day). The position consists (after the initial training) mainly of the following:
Responding to customer enquiries via email, phone, and website app (no cold calling)
Addressing problems with a customer first approach
Updating new and existing customer accounts and preferences using a variety of web based programs
Providing customers with information about our products and services
Troubleshooting issues/concerns on the fly from both customers, and our team of Mama Earth delivery drivers
Ensuring we deliver an awesome overall customer experience
Computer and Internet literate (quick and very comfortable with computers)
Excel proficiency an asset
Strong ability to multitask and set priorities
Problem solver who can think on their feet
Strong attention to detail
Proactive and forward thinking
Interest/knowledge in organics/environment/local food an asset
Positive and naturally happy
Must love animals (we have office pets)

Things You Should Know
You will work approximately 24-35 hours per week (this will include weekends, and evenings until 8pm).
Starting rate is $17.00/hr and we offer a benefits program and staff pricing on all our organic produce and food.
This isn’t your average office job. We pride ourselves on creating a work environment that promotes employee well being and happiness while bringing back the tradition of personal customer service. No call center vibes here.
AND-you’ll work with an amazingly nice, smart and engaged group of people. Starting date is as soon as we find the perfect person.
Temporarily due to COVID-19 you’ll see that our office has some precautions in place: remote interview process, daily temperature checks, social distancing guidelines are in place, and an active COVID Committee are just some of the measures we have to keep our team safe.
