Red Fife is a heritage or heirloom wheat, considered to be one of Canada's oldest wheat varieties. It has not undergone the hybridization of modern wheats. We grow our grains in Prince Edward County using regenerative agriculture principles (absolutely no chemical sprays!).
Red Fife is a favourite of artisan bakers due to its exceptional flavour and baking properties. It is excellent for making artisan bread,bagels, pizza dough, crackers, pancakes, waffles and a variety of sourdough and soaked baked goods.
All of our flours contain the entire seed or berry. Nothing added, nothing taken away- No industrial processing and no strange ingredients. Our flour is packaged in a specially designed bag that prevents the oxidation of important vitamins and minerals, locking in freshness for optimal nutrition and taste.
