Thyme has a strong, pungent, Mediterranean flavour, which makes it an ideal herb for flavouring meat and/or tomato-based dishes. Because of its potency, it is not recommended to use thyme with fish, as it will quickly overpower. Even with strongly-flavoured meat, use thyme in moderation to avoid overwhelming the dish.
This living herb can be stored in the fridge (preferably not in the back - where its a bit too chilly). If you'd like to watch them grow like a living house plant keep them on the windowsill to make sure they get lots of sun and water regularly when the soil is dry.
Slegers Greens is a family owned greenhouse operation that has been producing greens since 1987. We gained our organic certification in 2004. We grow greens with the roots attached because we want people to get the freshest raw food available, with living enzymes that promote good digestive health.
