For over 28 years, St. Urbain Bagel has been making the best Montreal bagels in Toronto.
In 1987 two accountants, Bernie Good and Eric Bailis opened their first bagel shop in Toronto, just north of Yonge and Steeles. A second location was opened in the St. Lawrence Market in 1992 and a third at Bathurst and Eglinton in 1994. Soon after the original location was relocated to Bathurst and Steeles.
Over the years St. Urbain has won many awards including being voted Best Bagel in Toronto by the Toronto Star in 1994.
Our bagels are made the old fashioned way and are boiled in honey-water before being baked with care in our brick ovens. We have over 12 varieties of bagels although sesame seed and poppy seeds are still the most popular. Over the last number of years our customers have demanded a healthier bagel and we now make 6 varieties of whole wheat based bagels including flax, multi-grain, whole wheat, and whole wheat with poppy seeds, sesame seeds and everything seeds.
