Located in “the bog” bordering Port Colborne and Wainfleet, ForageGirl Fiddleheads (the duo previously known as Norcliff Farms) was established in 1973. What started out as a small enterprise has grown into a corporation with international distribution - with about 450 pickers from just south of The Ottawa Valley all the way to the Gaspe Coast in Quebec.
ForageGirl Fiddleheads is the largest producer and packer of fiddleheads in North America! Wild Harvesting is the name of the game, and for Brittany and Nina, one of their favourite sayings is “ForageGirl Fiddleheads have no ‘cides.’ ” (no herbicides, fungicides or pesticides are used at anytime). In the early spring the team forages the forests and riverbeds for wild fiddleheads, which are handpicked with care, one by one - taking only 2-3 fronds off each plant (they usually have 7), to insure the perennial will grow back the following year. They've got their process down pat, shipping all of their foraged fiddleheads within 30 hours of harvest, because fesh is their ancestry and their promise to you.
